With specialist knowledge, advanced CEMB balancing equipment, and experienced engineers, we restore the balance of both light and very heavy machine parts – from 100 grams to 3.5 tons. This can be done at your location or in our fully equipped workshop.

Different forms of imbalance

In the vast majority of cases, the imbalance in a rotor will consist of a combination of static and couple unbalance (dynamic imbalance). ELMA has the expertise and measuring equipment to detect and correct every form of imbalance.

At ELMA, the following three forms of imbalance are repaired:

Static imbalance

The “dropping” of an impeller at a standstill, for example, indicates a static imbalance. This is an unbalance force that is already present in a non-rotating machine. It is eliminated by balancing on a single plane.

Couple unbalance

When this static imbalance is corrected by applying a correction weight in a different plane than the plane of the imbalance itself, a so-called couple unbalance is created. With a stationary rotor, these weights will keep each other in balance. However, with a rotating rotor, the opposing forces will result in a couple and therefore vibrations.

Dynamic imbalance

In the vast majority of cases, the imbalance in a rotor will consist of a combination of static and couple unbalance. This combination is called dynamic imbalance. Elma BV has the expertise and measuring equipment to detect and correct every form of imbalance.

Our balancing solutions

In addition to balancing, we also provide laser alignment of drives. Correct alignment of motor and rotor prevents vibrations, minimizes wear, and contributes to a longer lifespan of your installation. If desired, we also perform vibration analyses.

Balancing on-site or in our workshop

Depending on the situation, we balance at your location or in our workshop.

On-site balancing is ideal when disassembly is undesirable or downtime must be kept to a minimum. Our measuring equipment combines accurate measurements with direct calculations, allowing corrections to be carried out efficiently and your installation to be operational again quickly.
