Machines and installations equipped with TER position limit switches often operate under harsh conditions. Temperature fluctuations, moisture, dust, UV, and salt must not affect their operation.
That is why all components are extremely precise, reliable, and safe — for optimal control, maximum operational reliability, and the prevention of injury and damage.

Applications

  • Industrial & construction cranes (heavy lifting): monitoring the movements of gantry cranes, overhead cranes, container cranes, column jib cranes, tower cranes, and winches.
  • Drive & control systems for production machinery and production processes. Goal: minimizing human intervention.
  • Theater technology: controlling the movement of sets, curtains, moving stages, and other objects.
  • Wind turbines: control of turbine blade angle adjustments (pitch control) and the position of the nacelle (yaw control).

I. Rotary Limit Switches

TER manufactures five series of rotary limit switches: BASE, FOX, OSCAR, TOP, and a special Atex line ‘LIMITEX AG‘. The switches are primarily used to control the movement of industrial machinery and wind turbines. Movement is measured based on angular rotation and/or the number of shaft revolutions. Gear ratios: from 1:1 to 1:8100, up to 15 contact elements, available in IP ratings 42, 65, 66, 67, and 69k. Configurations with cam sets, encoders, and potentiometers are also possible.

II. Position Limit Switches

TER supplies position limit switches in aluminum or thermoplastic material, with a single rod and/or wheel, with cross-rods, “T”-rods, or various types of heads and actuators for diversified switching modes. TER’s special Atex version, the Limitex AP, is made of G20 cast iron and features Atex certifications EN 60079-0: 2009, EN 60079-1: 2007, and EN 60079-31: 2009.

Hanging & wall-mounted push-button control stations

For push-button control stations, Elma collaborates with TER, an experienced Italian manufacturer of industrial controls.

These panels are used as primary or auxiliary controls in cranes, winch systems, industrial installations, theaters, and waste processing, among others. Designed for heavy-duty applications, they function reliably under harsh conditions such as temperature fluctuations, moisture, dust, UV, and salt — resulting in maximum control, operational reliability, and safety.

Various types

Each series of control panel has specific features that drastically reduce installation and maintenance costs.

  • Mike and Victor are designed for very simple installation: the switching elements are placed on the base plate near the cable entry and are installed separately from the control elements. The cable clamp of the Victor can be installed at the top, bottom, or back of the control station, and can also be magnetically mounted. The innovative suspension system of Mike, where the cable is concealed within the shell, enables fast and ergonomic installation. A separate guard is placed to protect the switching elements at the bottom of the control station.
  • The Mike-X and the SPA ATEX are two handheld push-button enclosures specifically designed for use in explosive environments. They possess a full range of CE EX, IEC, and IECEx certificates.
  • Charlie features a threaded ring to secure the housing and cover. At the same time, this ensures easy access to the internal components without the need for tools or screws.

Every TER control panel is available in different IP ratings:

  • IP65 (water jets)
  • IP66 (powerful water jets, 100 liters / minute)
  • IP67 (temporary immersion)
  • IP69K (high pressure / steam-jet cleaning)

All materials and components used are weather-resistant and withstand the ingress of moisture and dust.
