Since its foundation in 1937 in De Bilt, ELMA Technology has developed into a versatile technical partner. What began with the repair and overhaul of electrical machines — from which the name ELMA originates — quickly grew into an organization with a broader focus.
In the following years, the emphasis shifted to the supply of electric motors, and the foundation was laid for further specialization. The move to Soesterberg in the late 1970s created the space to continue this growth.
From the 1980s onwards, ELMA expanded its activities to include drive and control technology. Engineering and panel building also became important parts of its services. Today, ELMA stands for a combination of experience, technical depth, and a future-oriented approach.
In 2002, a significant change took place: the entire company was transferred to a new management team. In the years that followed, several companies were acquired, including Hazendonk in Bunnik and Vortex in Soest.
ELMA has since grown into a dynamic and innovative company with approximately 80 employees in the Netherlands and 30 at Elro in Romania.
Since 2019, ELMA has been part of the HYDAC International Group, following a buy-out by HYDAC Netherlands.
ELMA creates added value with innovative electrotechnical solutions, from consultancy and design to realization and after-sales service.
What distinguishes ELMA is the unique combination of three perfectly collaborating business units: Systems, Components, and Services. This allows us to provide solutions across the full breadth of the technical spectrum.
We build long-term partnerships and strive for continuity for our customers, with a strong focus on quality and an optimal price-performance ratio. ELMA is active in sectors including offshore and maritime, hoisting and lifting technology, machine building, and industry.
