Within a market where sustainability is a challenge, ELMA wants to make a significant contribution to a healthy living environment.
It is our ambition to reduce ELMA’s footprint by nearly 50% by 2028. To realize and reinforce this, we have chosen to obtain the CO2 Performance Ladder certificate as a group.
Objectives
The CO2 Performance Ladder certificate helps us to map our CO2 emissions and achieve our objectives.
In addition, it helps us make more sustainable choices and regularly devise new measures.
The 4 perspectives
The CO2 Performance Ladder approaches the system through the following 4 perspectives:
A: Insight
B: Reduction
C: Transparency
D: Participation
Twice a year, we inventory emissions and analyze them. This provides us with insight into emissions; based on this insight, an objective has been determined. Measures flow from these objectives. By continuing to repeat the inventory, the results of the measures become transparent.
After gaining insight into emissions, measures and objectives have been determined. The measures are implemented to achieve the objective. The efficiency of measures also becomes clear from the insight perspective.
By sharing Insight, Objectives, and Progress on both our website and internal communication channels, we focus on the involvement of employees and partners in the market.
HYDAC is affiliated with the Positive Impact Foundation (Stichting Positieve Impact), through which we participate in workshops and events.
In addition, we actively respond to initiatives within our chain. For example, we participate in customer events in the field of sustainability and actively contribute ideas regarding CO2 footprint and reduction possibilities.
